The Diploma of School Age Education and Care CHC50221 reflects the role of educators who are responsible for the day-to-day running of a before and after school care and/or vacation care service, including planning implementing and managing programs which address regulatory and duty of care requirements.

This qualification will allow you to supervise and manage vacation care programs, as well as before and after school care activities for children of school age. School age education and care workers may work as part of a team or autonomously.

​

This course will require you to complete a total of 280 hours of practical work placement. These hours will be on a volunteer basis, unless you are already employed as a school age education and care worker, in which case you are more than welcome to use your current workplace and hours to meet the 280 hour requirement.

We also offer this course via distance training which allows you to complete it at your own pace with the support of a trainer. When completing your course via distance our trainer will be with you every step of the way. You will have access to them via email, phone or zoom Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm.
